About Me

Hey there!
Serving at the Cultural Food Fair - 2011
My name is Nicki, and I absolutely love cosplay! I have always been interested in arts and crafts of some sort since I was a kid, and have loved to find new ways to tap into those skills and apply them.

I grew up writing my own stories and drawing the pictures for them - or making little sock puppets for the kids I babysat for. Art followed me everywhere!

Although my passion for writing won out (which I ended up studying at my university), I still liked to pursue arts as a hobby. I continued to paint, draw, and craft on my own for years to come.

It wasn't until later in highschool that I discovered the world of cosplay. I attended my first convention, Fanime, in 2007 where my eyes were opened to the wonders of home-made costumes. I had been passionate about anime, manga, and video games for quite some time, but never was able to apply it.

I teamed up with one of my friends to work on costumes for a few years after that. We were able to produce a lot of great cosplays, ranging from Kingdom Hearts to Super Mario to Final Fantasy. I'm so happy I was able to join such a great community of kind and passionate people. My experiences learning how to sew, craft, and cosplay were really exciting, but also very challenging. And I wanted to make sure to take thorough notes during all of  my challenges to better improve my experiences, and others.

Prepping for Extra Life
I've been really happy to continue to work on this blog, even after some big transitions in my life! I originally created this with my cosplay partner while we were in highschool, and then we went to separate colleges, and then we parted in terms of costuming, and I became sole manager of the content. After that, I graduated, and got a full time job. This has greatly impacted my costuming time, but, I'm happy to say I'm still working on it!

So thanks again for joining me on this epic cosplay adventure, and for being patient with my random posts! I share as much and as often as I can, but I truly love my life and my job, so they definitely eat up a bit of time.

If you ever have any questions, comments or requests, please send them my way! I'm more than happy to make this blog fit the needs of the viewers.

Thanks for reading, and I'll see you all in the latest post!
