Summer Update

Majora's Mask Paper Art - WIP
Hey everyone!

So it's been a bit quiet on my end lately and for that, I'm sorry! As I'm sure many of you understand, life has a way of throwing you some curve balls. Earlier this year, I was forced to move very quickly which caused my life to be turned a bit upside-down, in addition to shaking the finances. Shortly after that, I got promoted (hooray!) and moved to a new department at the company. And now, in less than a month, I'll be moving again into something I hope can be much more permanent.

What does this mean, you ask? Well, I sadly haven't been able to spare any time, or money, for my cosplay work. I do think about it a lot, and wish I had more time to dedicate to the projects I outlined for the year. But it'll be quite some time before I'm financially on my feet and ready to spend some extra cash on fabric and wigs to share with all of you.

That doesn't mean this blog will be empty! I have plans to continue updating this now that I've settled into my new job, and I'll be settling into the new home as well. I'm excited to announce that I have the opportunity to share more than just costumes now - I hope to start collecting some of my crafts and recipes on here, too!

I love that art and creativity define and drive so much of my life, and I would like to share that with all of you. So stay tuned for new posts surrounding cosplay or sewing in general, arts and crafts (and my exploration into new techniques, like crocheting!) as well as cooking!

Thank you for all of your continued patience. You guys are seriously the best. :]

With gratitude,

Unwrapping the Machine: Brother CS6000i

Hey everyone!

So it's time for me to dig in to some new cosplay projects. I have an event coming up in a week that demands I repair one of my old costumes. I finally decided to open up my new machine and check out how she sews!

I received the Brother CS6000i as a gift for Christmas. I was so excited to finally have a new machine, as my old one had a few broken parts that would cost more money to repair than getting a new machines. I opted in for the new machine.

Sewing Machines: Part I

Hey everyone,

It's time for another update! As promised, here's a write-up about sewing machines. I will start out by saying there are tons of great resources online - some are much better than what I will have included here. But, this will hopefully serve as a good jumping-off point for looking at a machine, and caring for it.
